Slovene pianist Nejc Lavrenčič began his piano studies at at the Secondary school for Music and Ballet in Maribor in the class of prof. Tatjana Dvoršak. Soon he baceme protege of pianists Marina Horak and Saša Geržlej Donaldson.
In the Slovenian Music Competition for Youth (TEMSIG 2005) Nejc received 3rd prize in piano duo and in the 2006 International Piano Competition of the Conservatory Davorin Jenko In Belgrade, Serbia he received the 2nd prize as a soloist.
He has recorded for RTV Slovebia, and have pperformed in Kennedy center of Performing Arts in Washington D.C., Freimann Hall in Toronto, BOZAR - Palais des beaux-arts in Brussels, Petit Palais in Paris, St. Pau Recinte Modernista and Auditorium in Barcelona, Križanke in Ljubljana, national Opera House in Maribor, belgrade Filharmony, Stainway &Sons centre in Antwerp, Glazbeni zavod Zagre and elsewhere.
From 2007 he studied under Aleksandar Madžar at athe Koninkljik Conservatorium in Brussels (Belgium). In 2012 he finished his Master degree in the class of Jan Michiels. In 2014 he received his 2nd Master title in Chamber music.From 2011 till 2013 he received a scholarship of the Flemish Government.
In October 2011 Nejc was representing the "European Capital of Culture Maribor 2012." By that occasion he performed in Brussels Slovenia music that was never before performed in Belgium.
Nejc has been also awarded with "Dr. Roman Klasinc" Award for special achievements and creativity.
From 2010-2015 he studied and specialized in Lied interpretation under Udo Reinemann and his guests Peter Schreier, Julius Drake, Mitsuko Shirai, Hartmut Höll, Ursula Kryger, Konrad Richter, Helmut Deutsch, Christianne Stotijn, Jascha Nemtsov, Maria Bayo, Wolfgang Holzmair, Ann Murray, Michiel Tranchant, Jaroslav Mrazek, Joseph Breinl, David Selig and Markus Hadulla. In 2018 he was selected for participation at a prestigious Academie de Villecroze held by Hedwig Fassbender, Anne le Bozec, Götz Payer and Mathias Hermann.
Active as a solo pianist as well as a chamber musician, Nejc Lavrenčič enjoys collaborations with renowned musicians Sabina Cvilak, Marcos Fink, Juliette de Massy, Artur Rozek, Cristina Segura Rodriguez, Mojca Vedernjak, Katja Konvalinka, Soumaya Hallak, Magdalena Sas, Luka Železnik, Isabelle Dunlop, and others.
Mr. Lavrenčič represented the European Capital of Culture - Maribor 2012 in Brussels and was awarded the Dr. Roman Klasinc Award for special achievements and creativity.
In 2014 – 2015 Nejc has been teaching at the University of Ljubljana at the Music Academy has received a working scholarship by Ministry of Culture of Republic Slovenia. He teaches piano at a private school in Ljubljana and regularly gives masterclasses on piano, chamber music and interpretation of Art Song.
He is cofounder and Artistic director of PerArtem Institute.
